Modern Pyramids volunteered as an exhibitor during the 2009 Science, Engineering, and Mathematics Link Career Fair and Exhibition. The event was held within the Student University Center Ballroom at Georgia State University in downtown Atlanta, GA during the afternoon on Saturday, May 2, 2009.
The event exposed metropolitan Atlanta K-12 students to carer paths within technical fields.
MPI President Irving Fordham spoke concerning engineering fields particularly mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering. He advised students that they could combine their passions with an engineering degree then utilize the combination as a stepping stone to careers in business, law, medicine, etc
Some of the other exhiitors at the event included the following: American Chemical Society Georgia Local Section, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,
Georgia Bureau of Investigation,
Morehouse School of Medicine, Dr. Natasha Browner from the Morehouse Cardiovascular Research Institute involves potential future doctors and scientist in a hands-on protein demonstration.
Georgia Institute of Technology School of Chemistry and Biochemistry. Creativity, curiousity, inventiveness with some coaching leads a young inventor to a "slimy" gelatin creation after shaking a flask filled with a colored chemical solution.
The young attendees were enthusiatic and precocious. The event was extremely family oriented. The forum provided opportunities to poise questions for curious students who were accompanied by their parents, siblings, and other family members.
Various technical disciplines were epresented including Chemistry, Forensic Science, Biomedical Research, and electrical engineering by Modern Pyramids, Inc.
